ST GEORGE'S DAY 2006
Sunday 23rd April saw the Scout Groups from South Berkshire attend their annual St George's Day Service held at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst.

The Service and Parade was attended by over 900 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Leaders and parents.

The Service was held in the Royal Memorial Chapel and included the important renewal of laws and promises by all of the movements members. There were several readings and hymns. One of the hymns, The Scout Hymn, was lead by a young member of the District Gang Show. 1st Easthampstead were very pleased to see its Group Scout Leader, Skip, receiving his well earnt Silver Acorn as part of the Chief Scouts St George's day awards.

After the Service the Groups assembled outside for the parade. Each Group was lead by their Group and Section flags and were accompanied by a local youth marching band on their first public engagement. 1st Easthampstead were proud to lead the parade this year and the Scout Troop's senior Patrol Leader carried the Union Flag.

Many thanks to all those from 1st Easthampstead who attended (smartly) and did the group proud.
