From the Group Scout Leader, 25th March 2008
You will all be aware that
the new pedestrian footpath is not the easiest of obstacles to overcome (but
safer than mixing young people with vehicles!) We are aware of this problem
and will be working to improve the situation in the near future. In the meantime
I would ask you to stick with it
There are a few important events that I would like to draw your attention to:
-
St George’s Day at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on 20th April. The closing date for registration is the 28th March. Currently we have 54 young members signed up to attend which means that there are 46 young people that we have not yet heard from!
All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders should make every effort to attend this special event. For further information please go to the members homepage and click on the link from the online activitiy information section of the page
Annual work day 2008. This year our Annual work day will take
place on Saturday 10th May commencing at 0900 hrs. This is our opportunity to
complete lots of little tasks; cleaning, gardening, repairing and the more help
we have the more we can get done. You can turn up anytime from 0900 hrs and
stay for an hour, 2 hours or longer. Bring with you gardening tools, cleaning
implements, gloves, in fact anything you think might be useful
Specific jobs to be completed this year are; trimming the hedge, cutting out
dead wood, tidying the wood pile, cleaning, dusting and polishing inside, sanitising
the kitchen and toilets, re-seating the front guard at the main store (cementing),
sorting out the main store, removing one old tree, the floor will be cleaned,
sealed and polished during the half-term holiday
Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day and a picnic type lunch
for those working through the day
Notification of 49th Annual General Meeting. The 49th Annual
General Meeting and Annual Review will take place at Headquarters, on Tuesday,
10th June 2008, at 8.15 p.m.
Items for the Agenda should be submitted to skip@fesg.org.uk by the 20th May
2008. This is an opportunity for the whole Group to come together (parents,
friends and children) and not only hear about all the events which have taken
place during the past 12 months, but also to show support for the work done
by the Committees and by the Leaders of the Group. Following the relatively
short business side of the AGM there will be refreshments and an opportunity
to talk to Leaders and Supporters from all sections
