Introduction
Because of some peoples fears about the 'World Wide Web' we feel that
it is a necessity for us to have a basic policy covering the most
raised points.
From mid May 2005
the website will be divided into areas - a public area consisting
of the homepage and general information pages and section pages for
our members to use with their families. The members pages will be
password protected.
Use of
Photographs
Photographs used on the site will be of a Scouting nature ranging
from a child being invested to a group of children participating in
an activity. We will not link a name with an individual person in
a photograph in our public areas. Most photographs will appear within
the members pages only.
Parents of members in the Group are given the right to opt out of
us using a photograph of their child on our web site. If we do need
to use a particular photograph we would edit it to comply with their
wishes. To opt out or discuss this further please contact the Webmaster.
Please note that
if you have chosen to opt out in the past you need to do this again
when registering with the site.
Use of
Names, addresses, E-mail addresses etc
Our policy stops us from using our members names in our public areas.
Personal details (addresses and telephone numbers etc) are not accessible
on this site. E-mail addresses are only available for Leaders - for
contact purposes.
Dates
and locations of events
We will not disclose dates or locations for trips and camps etc in
our public areas until after the event has taken place.
Links
to other sites
Links to other sites are restricted to Scouting sites and the sites
of companies that help the sections or the Group and are checked on
a regular bases. We can not, however, be held responsible for any
content on these sites or sites that they may have links to.
Website
updates
When you register with the site you will start to automatically receive
updates via the email address you supply. If you do not wish to receive
these updates please reply to one of the emails with your request
to stop.
